In this episode, my primary topic of focus was on the different aspects of owning a home in Costa Rica vs. owning a condo.
I also gave Costa Rica July and August news updates, and had a celebrity cameo with Shawn P, who just moved to Costa Rica this weekend – and bought a house *sight unseen*.
Obviously , in weighing a home vs. condo there are some clear pros and cons. I try to address some of the most common myths I hear from Costa Rica real estate clients – some will immediately say, “I want a condo because it’s more secure, more rentable and easier to own.”
Let’s discuss further! I address questions of security, ease of management, costs, rentability, and ease of resale and give my two cents. As always, my thoughts, advice and opinions are based on my experience living and working in Guanacaste, Costa Rica since 2008 – a lot of this varies from place to place!
